Sam is delighted to offer his Bulbous Vessel Carving Course at London Green Wood During this course, participants will be guided through a slow, detailed, step-by-step approach to creating bulbous, organic vessel forms from a log using carving methods. The course will start at the very beginning of a vessel journey from the initial split and prep of timber, followed by freehand hollowing using a provided adze, double edged twca cam and loop knives. I had the pleasure to be taught by Sam a year ago another course and it was equally a joy and highly informative. This course, the bulbous vessel carving course, is more complex in many levels than the spoon carving course from last year due to the spacial awareness and technical skills needed. However, Sam made all this information clear, step by step, patiently and at a very accommodating pace for everyone. I have appreciated Sam work as works of art, not just a very accomplished practitioner but a creator. Not many artists have the capacity to communicate emotionally and technically to others like Sam.
