What happens at this event?
Spend a few hours in our beautiful outdoor workshop making your own spatula from locally grown wood. Suitable for complete beginners.
We will take you through the steps to create a beautiful and useful kitchen utensil. You will be using a drawknife and a shavehorse to go from freshly split wood to a handcrafted spatula.
This is a great taster course for anyone who's considering our longer courses.
This is a seated course, we will be working on shave horses, so it's suitable for people who are unable to stand for long periods of time.

A chilled morning under the awning making spatulas. Great instruction from Ed talking us through the stages, a mug of tea, a chance to chat with others and 2 spatulas made. Many thanks we’ll be back!
